Soul Studios Guidelines
Please read thoroughly and make sure you and your dancer are familiar and able to comply with the following guidelines/precautions. We request that parents of younger students have a conversation with their dancer prior to their first dance class back at the studio to help reinforce the new rules and guidelines.
ANYONE entering Soul Studios ages 9 & above will be required to wear a mask upon entry and during group classes for the time being. This must be done to ensure the safety of our dancers and as well as our staff as we transition fully back into the studio. When the time comes that we feel it is appropriate mask requirements will be lifted, as we are following CDC guidelines. COMPANY DANCERS please note masks are currently required the events we are looking to attend (example: convention classes), therefore it is beneficial for you all to practice dancing in masks now. We realize this is an inconvenience however it is temporary and something we must do for the time being.
1. Indoor waiting area will be closed except for dancers 7 and under, 1 parent may accompany them if necessary. All other parents and siblings must wait in their cars or outside patio area. Parents of younger dancers are encouraged to remain onsite or nearby during class.
2. Dancers must have shoes on when entering the studio, and will enter through our main entrance. Lobby area will be made available for dancers to remove their shoes once they enter the building (flip flops encouraged as they can be easily removed and stored). At dismissal, we may release some dancers from the side door in the large studio. Staff will be present to assist in entering and exiting all classes.
3. Parents must conduct their own health assessment of their dancer prior to arriving at the studio, Temperature checks will be taken upon studio entry. Dancers may not enter the facility if they are exhibiting any symptoms such as fever of 99.5 or higher, coughing, extreme fatigue or have been exposed to COVID-19.
4. Please make sure your dancer uses the bathroom before arriving to studio and before class to minimize bathroom usage.
5. Dancers should not enter the building until their exact class time. They may wait in the car outside or on patio area spaced out until class time.
6. Dancers MUST arrive at the studio in dance clothes. There will be no changing allowed in the bathrooms or changing area (Dress code accommodations will be made). Dancers are encouraged to wear a cover-up to and from the building. The clothing the dancer arrives in, is the clothing the will remain in.
7. Dancers will be required to sanitize their hands upon entering/exiting the building. There will sanitizers available in each studio and front desk. We would like for each dancer to bring in their own personal small hand sanitizer to use
8. Upon entering the classroom, dancers will be directed where to stand with floor and barre markings (some may have squares around them). Chairs and cubbies will be provided in the studio for dancers to place their dance shoes, water bottles, and necessary belongings on. These will be disinfected between classes and dancers should refrain from brining anything into the studio that is NOT needed for class. Water breaks will be directed by the teacher to maintain social distancing. Dancers may bring a mat or towel that can be used for any floor work.
9. Physical contact between dancers and teachers will be minimized to maintain social distancing while in the building. There should be no physical contact between any dancers at any time while inside the studio. Any dancer that cannot follow the social distancing guidelines will be asked to take classes on Zoom instead at the studio for the safety of all.
10. Ballet barres, door handles, mats, bathrooms, and any other equipment used will be disinfected between classes.
11. There will be no eating inside the dance studio. If dancers need to bring food they must bring their own lunch box and cooler as use of the refrigerator, nor microwave will be permitted.
12. The vending machine will not be available at this time. Dancers will need to bring their own water bottles. Dancers may NOT refill their water bottle with the bathroom sink they must have their own refills if needed.
13. We will be practicing social distancing during all classes, this includes warm up, center work, progressions, combinations, and improv. Additional markings on the floor will be provided to help reinforce social distancing.
14. Please arrive to pick up your dancer a little early at the end of their scheduled dance day. For dancers heading to another class, our staff will help designate what area they will go to and will maintain social distance.
15. Dancers that have breaks between classes will need to continue to practice social distancing. When we have a better grasp on how many dancers we have on breaks during certain times new guidelines may be put in place.
16. Dancers must notify instructor when using the restroom so that proper sanitization processes can follow.
17. There will be no lost and found during this time. Anything left behind at the end of the day will be discarded. Staff will help to make sure that the end of each class all belongings are collected.
If you have any additional questions please call the office at 941-955-4444 or you may reach us via email office.soulstudios@gmail.com instead of entering the facility in person. The office is closed for unannounced walk-in questions. Once we get a handle on the flow of the schedule will let you know specific hours the office will be open for payment, registration, question, etc.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding through all of these new changes.

SOUL STUDIO PROGRAMS
Teacher's Assistant Program
Each season, several Company Dancers ages 11& up will be selected to assist the teachers of very young recreational dancers. It will be the responsibility of the TA's to be present for every assigned class to aid the teacher and enhance the young students' experience. Training will be provided. TA's must fulfill their responsibilities as Company Dancers or may risk losing their position as assistants. It is an honor to be chosen to be a TA and compensation may be given in the form of a small credit to the student's account.
SOUL SIBLINGS
Our Soul Brothers/Sisters Company Program is a very special mentoring opportunity for our upper level dancers. This is an opportunity for our older, more experienced Souls to support our younger, up and coming Souls. It is the role of the mentor to be a buddy to his or her assigned brother or sister... to be an example, to provide support, to be a cheerleader - throughout the season - in studio and at special events.
