By registering for a class, you are securing a spot from September through June. Likewise, based on registration in August/September, TDC is making a commitment to book the instructor's time for the season. We will, however, accept a month to month payment/commitment from recreational students through November. Please note, drop fees will apply beginning in November. See next policy box (Enrollment/Reg Limit/ Other Teams/ Drop Policy) for more info.
OPTION A - PAYING YOUR TUITION IN FULL
Your payment info must be entered at the time of online registration and subject to TDC office approval. Your credit card or bank account will be AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED for the full season tuition (9 months) on Monday, September 9th, 2019.
If registering after September 9th, 2019, your card will be run upon time of registration and class approval.
A discount of 4% off your tuition in full for the 2019-2020 season will be applied if payment is made via ACH, check or cash. No discount will be applied with credit card payment. This discount is valid through September 30th, 2019.
Schedule for monthly payments (options B and C listed below) will be on the 1st of the month or next business day except for the following months:
May and June tuition both processed on May 1st.
OPTION B - MONTHLY PAYMENT BY CREDIT CARD - Processed on the 1st of each month or next business day.
I authorize TDC to use the credit card number and expiration date I've provided online via the Parent Portal. I understand that this card will be used by TDC to make payment on all of my dance fees on their respective due dates. This includes, but is not limited to, registration fees, monthly tuition, NSF fees and payments. I understand that payment of all fees is my responsibility and that a $30.00 fee will be applied to my account if the card on file is declined and cannot be processed for any reason. I further understand that it is my responsibility to maintain a valid credit card number and expiration date in the Parent Portal, and that any changes or updates must be made by me through the Portal.
OPTION C - MONTHLY PAYMENT BY PRE-AUTHORIZED ACH PAYMENT- Processed on the 1st of each month or next business day.
I authorize TDC to use the bank account information I've provided online via the Parent Portal. I understand that this account will be used by TDC to make payment on all of my dance fees on their respective due dates. This includes, but is not limited to, registration fees, monthly tuition, NSF fees and payments. I understand that payment of all fees is my responsibility. I further understand that it is my responsibility to maintain current banking information in the Parent Portal, and that any changes or updates must be made by me through the Portal. I understand that pre-authorized payments can be made from a savings or checking account only. I acknowledge that payment may be deducted a day or more after the tuition due date depending upon each bank's processing time. I understand that a $30.00 service charge will be applied to my account when a pre-authorized payment is returned for any reason.
Tuition is collected in full, or monthly by automatic credit card transaction, or by automatic pre-authorized (ACH) payments, upon registration for tuition payments from September 9, 2019 - June 1, 2020 (9 full month payments: 1/2 month for Sept and 1/2 month for December). September tuition fees are non-refundable regardless of the number of classes taken. Tuition refunds are offered in full if a class does not meet its minimum enrollment. Any changes or drops must be provided to TDC in writing by email through the Parent Portal prior to September 9th, 2019 in order to avoid paying the first month's tuition.
Tuition is due prior to the month you are paying for.
Payment dates for competition and convention fees are posted in the Company Dancer Handbook. Expect to have these fees withdrawn on the dates listed.
* Unlimited Classes Monthly Payments for Company Illuminate Dancers:
Company Illuminate Dancers pay the full month Unlimited Classes fee in September & December (1/2 months) , which helps cover extra rehearsal costs. Because this new online system will automatically prorate September & December, we are taking the aggregate amount of $3,850.00 ($385.00 x10 months = $3,850.00) and dividing it by 9, giving you a monthly tuition cost of $427.78, with the exception of September and December payments, which will be $213.89.
Company Ignite Dancers' rehearsal fee is not part of the Unlimited Classes Scholarship. Your rehearsal fee of $72.00 per month for 8 months (August-March) will be spread out over the full season (September- June). Your monthly tuition for Unlimited Classes plus your weekly rehearsal fee is $449.00 with the exception of September's & December's tuition which will be $224.50.
Company Ignite Dancers not reaching the Unlimited Classes Scholarship will be charged a rehearsal fee of $72.00 per month for 8 months (August- March), which will be spread out over the full season (September-June). Monthly tuition for your weekly rehearsals will be $64.00 with the exception of September and December, which will be $32.00.
All class placements are at the discretion of TDC's Director & Faculty.
TDC reserves the right to cancel, change or reschedule a class based on attendance and/or registration. Instructors are subject to change without notice.
Dance classes that have met their maximum enrollment will display a WAIT LIST link. Please click the link to be added to our wait list.
During the first 6 weeks of classes, faculty may suggest a change of class for some dancers (either a level up or a level down) depending on their ability, experience, motivation and focus. If we feel a change is necessary, we will contact you personally to discuss class options.
Please review brief descriptions of each class for any listed pre-requisites when enrolling. Certain classes require enrollment in either a JLT and/or ballet class. (Ex: certain lyrical classes have these requirements.)
In the event a class is wait listed due to high enrollment, dancers in our intensive program who need to meet specific course requirements will receive priority for class placement.
Dancers on competing dance teams may not audition for TDC Company or train at TDC during that time.
If you choose to stop attending classes, you must give TDC written notice by email through the parent portal prior to your last class.
Any student dropping out of classes during the 1st semester will be responsible for tuition through the end of the pay period. In other words, if a student drops out on October 8th, tuition is still due for the full month. You will be responsible for tuition payments until we receive written notice.
As of September 9th, there are NO REFUNDS for the first month of lessons regardless of the number of classes taken. Any changes or drops must be provided to TDC in writing prior to September 9th, 2019 in order to avoid paying the first month's tuition.
November and December - DROP FEES WILL APPLY - $50 for the first class and $25 for each additional class will be charged.
January through May - NO TUITION REFUNDS will be given for any dropped classes. The year's remaining tuition balance must be paid in full regardless of attendance.
In the event you paid in full and a refund is issued, you will receive a pro-rated refund within 4 weeks of providing us with written notification.
Once a pre-authorized ACH payment or monthly credit card payment has been processed for the month, no refunds for that month will be issued for that time period regardless of the number of classes taken.
COSTUME PAYMENT POLICY
To assist in budgeting costume costs, a costume fee of $25.00 per class per month from September-December will be charged in addition to tuition and will be applied directly to your costume account. Method of payment used will be the same as you have entered in the Parent Portal. Competition costumes will be billed at $35.00 per month from September-December.
Your costumes will be ordered from the class information entered by you and approved by TDC on your 2019-2020 online registration form. Changes from classes listed on your registration form must be requested in writing via email through the Parent Portal with a written acknowledgement from TDC no later than November 28th, 2019. Your costume money (for non-competition dances) is refundable up through November 28th, 2019, after which our costume ordering process will take place & you will be responsible for payment in full of the costumes ordered for you. Any costume balances will be charged, or credits issued at the end of the season. If, for any reason, you request a costume to be added for you after orders have been placed, and the costume company can fulfill your order, it will result in an additional $40.00 fee per costume due to separate processing and may include additional shipping charges.
Please note that the money applied to your costume account is to assist with budgeting for costume expenses. This is not the cost of your costume. We do not charge a "flat fee" for all costumes to simplify our accounting. Costume fees reflect price of costume, shipping fees and potential accessories ordered for your convenience. Therefore, your final costume cost may or may not exceed the amount paid into your costume account. We do, however, make it our goal for your costume to cost less than the deposit.
TDC pays for the full amount of your costume upfront when the orders are placed in December. Be advised, once costume orders are placed, your costume money becomes non-refundable and you are responsible for full payment of the costume ordered for you regardless of participation in the performances.
Also be advised that most costumes, once shipped to the studio, need some sort of altering or adjustments which will be the responsibility of the client. Costumes may not be taken home until ALL TDC balances are paid in full. TDC will email and post announcements regarding a costume pick-up date at the studio prior to "picture week". If a student drops out after costumes are ordered, TDC reserves the right to borrow your costume for another student to "fill in" if it is in the best interest of the class. Your costume will be available for pick-up after show week in June. Please call the office to arrange pick-up. Any costumes not picked up by August 1st, 2020, will be donated to a charity.
PARKING and DROP-OFF
Parking for TDC is behind the building. Parking at the upper level is available after 5:00 pm. Additional parking is available towards the southwest end of Smith Court at: Stoneridge Building, 20006 Detroit Rd. This additional parking convenience is available to TDC clients on weekdays from 5:00-10:00 pm. Do not park in front of the building directly across the street from TDC - they only have a few spots for their clients and will tow unauthorized vehicles.
The drive at the south side of TDC building is a 2-way drive leading to TDC's main entrance in the back. Students may also be dropped off at the front of the building via the semi-circular drive. Students should not be dropped off upstairs and left to wait alone in the (upstairs) lobby. Students who have class in studio T (upstairs) should wait in the downstairs main lobby until the teacher or assistant arrives.
Do not block the drive on the south side of the building. As a courtesy to those trying to leave the parking lot, and to help keep traffic moving, if you are blocking the flow of traffic at the semi-circular drive in front of the building, please leave the parking lot and re-enter.
Do not keep vehicles idling by open windows and be sure to turn off headlights if facing the mirrors in the studio. Headlights reflecting off the studio mirrors are very distracting.
Students should be picked up promptly after class unless special arrangements are made ahead of time.
The instructors are responsible for students taking class, not for students waiting in the lobby or outside the building. If waiting for a ride, students should wait quietly inside the building, not in the parking lot.
Parents are responsible for their children before and after class. A student may not "hang out" at the studio if she is not there to take class.
LOST AND FOUND
TDC will not be held responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Lost and found bin is located in the girls' locker room. Studio faculty will not keep any items in the office for pick up at a later date. Any lost items will be placed in the bin and parents are encouraged to come back to the studio to retrieve those items.
Contents of the lost and found will be donated to charity at the end of each month.
We recommend you put your child's name on all clothing, dance shoes and dance attire and leave all valuables at home.
At TDC, we take pride in maintaining a professional yet friendly environment. We realize that competitiveness exists; however, we expect our students and families to be supportive of one another, the teachers and TDC regarding its goals, philosophy and mission statement. Negative comments in the lobby and around the studio about TDC and/or the students cannot be tolerated. Our teachers work hard to provide the best dance education and choreography to our students. Any questions, misunderstandings or issues in need of a conversation should be brought to the instructors and/or Heidi Glynias, and not made part of a gossip circle. This only promotes negativity and is not part of the environment we strive to have for our students. We welcome conversations and suggestions that will help us improve TDC.
* Traditional classroom etiquette is expected. Disruptive students may be removed and barred from a class or the studio.
* No students may enter the studio without the instructor present or without the instructor's permission.
* Advanced students must receive permission from Miss Heidi to rehearse in a vacant studio.
* Siblings may not play in a vacant studio while waiting for a class to end.
* If a dancer has to leave class early, the instructor should be made aware of this BEFORE class.
* Students and families waiting in the lobby, must be respectful of classes in progress. Keep noise to a minimum and do not tap on the observation windows ~ it is extremely distracting to the students in the classroom. We reserve the right to close the blinds in situations where the dancers become distracted by action in the lobby.
* Parents keep younger children supervised at all times.
* Do not rest or put soles of shoes on the wall.
* Please respect the studio & clean up after yourself ~ students, this includes the locker room!!
* EATING FOOD IN THE LOCKER ROOM WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. No food permitted in the upstairs lobby at any time.
* No food, gum or open liquid containers in the studios.
* No lotion, powder, talc, rosin or water on the floors.
* Please bring a towel or exercise mat to avoid perspiration and body oils from transferring to the floors.
* Report all damp and wet floors immediately to the teacher. Avoid this area and do not dance on any damp or wet area.
* Observers are not allowed in the studio at any time.
* Note taking is prohibited unless the note taker has the permission from the teacher and is paying for the class.
I hereby irrevocably consent to TDC's use of my child's name and likeness, including her/his performance, voice and image in any form, whether via still photography, audio and/or video recording, or otherwise ("Media"), that are taken and/or recorded during class time, performances, etc. I authorize TDC to use all such Media on their website, in printed material, and/or all other internet and social media without further consideration.
I agree that TDC shall own all right, title and interest to such Media (including all content and all rights embodied therein) and that it may use, edit, modify, and distribute the Media, without limitation, and without compensation, further permission or notification to me. I hereby waive any inspection or approval of use. I also waive and release TDC, and all its owners, employees, agents, and representatives, from any claims based upon invasion of privacy, right of publicity, defamation, false endorsement, or claim of visual or audio alteration or faulty mechanical reproduction.
TDC respects the privacy of our customers. STILL PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO AND AUDIO RECORDERS ARE RESTRICTED AT ALL TIMES INSIDE THE STUDIO unless approved in writing by the studio (see Heidi Glynias), the teacher and anyone captured.
HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT
I fully acknowledge and understand that dance class participation frequently includes exercise, bodily contact and other associated dangers, which may result in property damage or personal injury to my child. I hereby assume such risks and further covenant not to sue TDC, or any of its owners, employees, agents and/or representatives, for any and all loss or damage, including property damage, personal injury, and disability, arising out of or in any way related to my child's enrollment at TDC. I hereby agree to fully assume the risk and full responsibility of all such injury, loss, damage, and disability due to the negligence of others, including those being released herein, and on behalf of myself, my spouse, my child, and my next of kin. I acknowledge that I have read this liability waiver and that I am waiving any claim as set forth herein for myself, my child, my spouse, and my next of kin, and that I forever release, discharge, and will hold TDC, including its owners, employees, agents, and representatives, harmless from any such claims or actions. I understand that TDC and its agents urges for all students to obtain a physical examination from their physician prior to attending any class.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL RELEASE
In the event my child requires medical care for any reason, I hereby authorize and give my consent to TDC, and its owners, employees, agents, and/or representatives, to seek such care on behalf of my child and/or transfer my child to any hospital or medical facility at my sole cost and expense. If possible, TDC will make reasonable attempts to contact me at the phone number(s) listed in my online Parent Portal prior to seeking such care and treatment for my child. I further agree that it is my sole and absolute responsibility to pay for the cost of any such care and treatment and that I will indemnify and hold TDC, including its owners, employees, agents, and/or representatives, harmless from all such costs.
