AAG strives to promote a positive and supportive environment for all gymnasts. We depend on parents and caregivers to maintain that positive energy for our gymnasts in their homes, before and after classes/practices, and at competitive events and performances. Students and team members are expected listen to and follow the instructions of their coach, to receive and accept correction, constructive criticism, encouragement, and guidance. Our coaches have vowed to use all of their experience, creativity and intelligence to help all of our gymnasts achieve their peak performance at their skill level.
Positive reinforcement is strongly encouraged. Gymnastics skills can be very challenging and stressful to learn, and progress is almost always incremental over time and difficult to perceive in the short term. Encouragement from parents, caregivers and even siblings is crucial for building confidence, self-esteem, and for the overall long-term success of our gymnasts, not just in the sport of gymnastics, but in all avenues of life!
Students and team members are expected comply with safety instructions of coaches and staff members at all times, and should strive to cooperate with planned lessons and activities. Disruptive behavior is strongly discouraged, and disrespectful or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
Any instance of profanity, racial slurs, of threats of violence or other forms of abusive language towards AAG students or staff will result in the IMMEDIATE termination of your child's enrollment.
Parents and caregivers are encouraged to observe practice from AAG's guest lounges on the lower and upper floor. However, parents are not permitted to enter the gym at any time during regular practice hours or class time. While we strongly encourage team members to take advantage of Open Gyms and private lessons as additional training opportunities, we do not encourage parent coaching or at-home workouts during the competitive season.
-- Compliance With Safety Policy --
Due to the heightened risks inherent in the recent COVID-19 outbreak, The American Academy of Gymnastics and its staff emphasize the importance of cooperation with all rules and policies at all times. Failure to cooperate with AAG policies or direct instructions from staff members may result in denial of service or termination of enrollment. Only students caregivers of students who are registered participants of classes and activities will be authorized to remain on AAG property; unauthorized individuals will be asked to wait outside of the facility, regardless of past enrollment status or relationship with other participants.
