*E-MAIL COMMUNICATION: The main form of communication between the studio and our families is through e-mail. Please provide your current e-mail address on the last page. We ask that you PLEASE check your e-mail on a regular basis to keep informed on updated studio information. Please do not forget to update your paperwork with our office if you change e-mail, phone number, or mailing addresses at any time.
*PARENT'S RESPONSIBILITY: It is the responsibility of Coastal Pointe Dance Company to notify all students of any schedule change. It is the responsibility of the student/parent to notify Coastal Pointe Dance Company of any illness, vacation, financial problems, change in schedule or any other factors interfering with the established and hereby agreed upon Coastal Pointe Dance Company's policies. Important Note: Each student must be covered by their family's medical/health insurance policy. If an injury occurs, it is understood that the student's own policy is your only source of coverage/reimbursement.
*TUITION: Tuition is paid in one of two options: Twice a year, or monthly. Tuition is due by the 1st of the month for all of the payment plans you have signed up for. Please make sure all payments have been received by that day. There is a one day grace period, and one time free pass, after the free pass and the 5th day of the month you will be subject to a late fee of $10.00. After three months of late payments you will be required to sign up for auto payments by credit card. All tuition is based on four weeks per month; therefore, there will be no extra charge for the "fifth week" lessons as these "free" lessons are used to offset the days when the studio is closed. It is the parent's responsibility to mail, electronically submit, or bring payments into the office. If your child misplaces your check it is not our responsibility to track it down. For your convenience Visa and Mastercard can be used. We do not accept American Express or Discover. Automatic bill-pay and credit card deductions can also be set up by our office manager for your account. A form must be filled out in the office to set up this procedure. PLEASE NOTE: Automatic credit card deductions will ONLY be debited between the 1st of each month. If tuition is not paid students will not be allowed to participate in class until all fees (including late fees) are paid. Students will not be able to participate in any studio functions, students must not have any past due tuition. This includes our annual recital, local performances, conventions, and dance competitions. Automatic Credit Card payments that are denied will be charged a $2.00 re-charge fee. Any check returned to the studio for insufficient funds will be charged a $30.00 service fee - no exceptions.
*REGISTRATION: An annual non-refundable registration fee of $40.00 per student is due when you register for classes to ensure that your spot is held. Parents are responsible for notifying the office of any change of information (address etc.) Registration payments are non-refundable.
*PRE-SCHEDULED HOLIDAYS & TUITION: Coastal Pointe Dance Company's pre-scheduled holidays are Easter Weekend/spring break, Memorial Weekend, Labor Day Weekend, President's Day Weekend, Thanksgiving Break, and Christmas Break. The studio will be in session all other days of the year. If there is a holiday that we are not off for, but you celebrate, you are welcome to make up the missed class in a like level or a level below for the class missed. Tuition is not pro-rated for holidays or breaks. If a class needs to be cancelled for any reason, such as snow or other weather emergencies we will send out an e-mail, and we will post it on our instagram, and facebook accounts. Sometimes when schools are closed due to a snow day the weather clears up and the roads are clean by the afternoon, we may still hold classes. Do not assume because schools are closed that we are. As many families do travel a distance if the roads are bad by you do not come, classes can be made up. Your safety is our top priority. If weather is getting bad or is expected to get bad we may close the studio early. Please be looking out for emails, and postings that this may occur. IMPORTANT: As stated above, tuition is based on four weeks per month; therefore, there will be no extra charge for the "fifth week" lessons as these "free" lessons are used to offset the days when the studio is closed.
*CLASSES/DANCE DISCIPLINES: Coastal Pointe Dance Company is proud to offer a wide variety of classes, including, but not limited to, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Leaps & Turns , stretch/ strengthen, Acting, Acro, Tiny Combo, and Creative movement. Students are placed in classes according to their technical abilities, not necessarily their age!! All student placement is based on Instructor/Director approval. Class size is generally limited to up to 15 students, although some classes are smaller and some larger. (based on age) *Please Note: Competition teams are separate from tuition rate and class placement. See office for details.
*ADDING/DROPPING CLASSES: We kindly ask that you please notify the office immediately if your child will be adding or dropping a class. If your child's class placement is not correct (they are not challenged enough or they are in over their head) NOT that the class is at an inconvenient time or you want siblings together, we welcome you to inform us of the issue. We can sit down, reassess, and find a class that fits your child developmentally and where they are technically as a dancer. We do not want anyone to struggle. If a student decides to discontinue classes, parents must submit a written statement that they are leaving by the 15th of that month. They must also include when their last day in class will be. If a student decides to quit after the 1st of the month, that month's tuition will not be refunded. If there is no documentation of classes being discontinued, parents will continue to be held responsible for the tuition due until it is put in writing that the child is discontinuing classes.

Sickness and Absentee Policy
ABSENCES: There are no refunds or adjustments made for missed classes. Tuition is based on enrollment, not attendance. As a courtesy, make-up lessons are available to students for two full months following the month in which the classes were missed, as long as tuition is paid for the current month. Please have student check in with the office or teacher before their make-up class so the Instructor is aware it is a makeup class. Make-up periods may be extended for unusual circumstances. We ask that parents please notify the office if your child will be missing class so we can inform their Instructor.
SICKNESS: If your child is unable to participate in their classes to the fullest due to any sickness or not feeling well, please keep them home, as a simple headache, excessive tiredness or sore throat can escalate quickly into something else. Dance is strenuous and if your child is not feeling well and not able to fully participate in class this is when injuries happen and there is no need to take any risks. Please keep your child home and the class can be made up.
For your child's safety and the well being of others we ask that your child not attend class until they are:
On Antibiotics for 24 hours or more
Are 24 hours symptom free (this includes but is not limited to Fever, vomiting, diarrhea, head lice, strep throat etc).
If your child attended dance and comes down with something later that night (other than a simple cold) please make sure to contact the studio immediately, so we can inform other parents of students in that class, as some viruses, illnesses can be detrimental to some kids, their siblings or parents, depending on different medical situations and conditions.
Injuries: If your child is unable to dance due to an injury please have them attend class to watch. They can learn a lot from observing, once they are healed even though they did attend class they are still welcome to make the class up.
If your child is going to be late or absent please contact the studio!
*STUDENT & PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT: Students are expected to act respectfully to their Instructors, C.P.D.C. Staff and their fellow students at all times while on studio premises or at a studio event. At no time during class are students allowed to physically touch another student unless instructed by their teacher (partner work, games.) At no time are students allowed to touch or go through another student's belongings. No foul language is allowed at any time. Cell phones are NOT allowed to be used inside the studio classroom. (Unless for the purpose of filming or taking pictures of a dance piece). No alcohol or weapons of any kind, (including pocket-knives,) are allowed on our premises. Lack of respect, by students or parents, in or out of the classroom, online, or through email with anything related to or concerning Coastal Pointe Dance Company, their students, faculty, staff, or the facility will not be tolerated. Students who disrupt class will be asked to sit out of class or report to the office, at which time a parent will be notified. If parents are bringing younger siblings, parents must supervise their child at all times. We do not offer free babysitting, or free dance lessons for siblings. If they are respectful, sit quietly, and do not disturb the class, they are welcome to watch. Students caught stealing or students & parents not adhering to Coastal Pointe Dance Company's code of conduct policy will be dismissed from our program at the discretion of the Director. To respect everyone's privacy, parents who need to speak to the Director or office staff regarding a personal issue, are asked to please ask us to find a private place to converse. Thank you.
*Class Viewing: Parents may view classes if and when the viewing windows are open. If excessive conversations occur in our waiting rooms, you will be asked to wait outside. Parents/guardians are not to interrupt or disturb classes for any reason. Please remain outside of the classroom until the class has been dismissed. Not only is it distracting to the students and Instructors to have a parent inside the studio (especially for the younger ages,) but to maintain the professional integrity and safety of our students. It is against our insurance policy to have any unregistered adults or siblings roaming around the studio while classes are in session. Parents are not permitted to take photographs of any kind inside the studio unless given permission by the instructor.
*TARDINESS: Students who are more than 15 minutes late for class will only be allowed in at the discretion of the Instructor. Students who are tardy on a chronic basis may be asked to attend another class at cost to the parents to pick up the instruction missed.
*SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS: Qualified substitute teachers are used when Coastal Pointe Dance Company Instructors are ill, on vacation or have other professional commitments. Substitute Teachers consist mainly of Coastal Pointe Dance Instructors, although "outside" Instructors from other professional studios/programs may be called if necessary. Please note that parents and students are NOT notified in advance that a substitute teacher will be instructing a class. Students are expected to come to class on a consistent basis even though their instructor is not present. Please note that all instructors do everything in their power to be at the studio 100% of the time, however things do come up. We ask that you respect the reason the teacher is out and trust that we have done our best to give you a replacement teacher. Questioning the teacher will not be tolerated. If a replacement teacher cannot come in we may combine classes and bring in an additional assistant to help with the class. If the genres are not alike we will offer a technique class.
