Procedures and Policies
Welcome to our P and D family! We are so happy and thankful to have you become apart of our program. Please review our studio policies and procedures listed below.
Class Times/Days
Classes begin the day after Labor Day. Classes conclude on May 31. You may drop students off fifteen minutes prior to the start of the class, but please not earlier. Please pick up students promptly after class. If you miss a lesson, you are welcome to make it up. Please ask your instructor for your make-up time. Front desk hours are Monday - Thursday 5:00 pm - 8:30 pm.
Parking
Parking is available in the parking lot (be sure not to park in "No Parking" Zones or in front of Regal Plastics' docks.) In addition, you are welcome to park along both sides of 9th Avenue.
Dance Attire
For our recital combination classes, students should wear proper dance attire in any color (leotards, tops, shorts, pants.) Dancers will need ballet (please tuck bows inside) or jazz shoes and tap shoes for class. Any style and color is permitted. Instructors will give exact instructions on the shoes needed for recital. Most likely, dancers will need tan jazz shoes and/or tan tap shoes. For all classes, female students should have their hair pulled back out of her face and be free of distracting jewelry.
For ballet/pointe technique classes, students must wear a black leotard, pink tights, ballet shoes and hair in a bun. For jazz, tap, modern, leaps /turns technique classes, students need to wear shorts and a sports bra/dance top, and hair in a bun.
Priscilla & Dana's hosts an annual sale of new and gently used shoes, dance attire and costumes. This is a GREAT way to get all your dance essentials at fantastic prices! Cash, checks and credit cards accepted. Please note there is a $25 charge on returned checks.
Class Rules
Students are expected to attend all classes. Frequent absences hold back other students in the class. If you miss a lesson, you are welcome and encouraged to make it up. Please ask your instructor for your make-up class. We reserve the right to dismiss any student whose attendance, attitude or conduct is found unsatisfactory. Children not in class (siblings, etc) need to be under parental supervision at all times. Tap shoes are allowed only in the dance rooms.
Tuition Policies
We have NO enrollment fee. We are pleased to offer discounts for multiple classes per week and/or multiple dancers in one family. It is preferred that you pay on your customer portal online via credit card. You can pay your tuition at the desk by check (payable to Priscilla & Dana's) or cash (in an envelope with the dancer's name on the outside.) There are three types of tuition payment plans: Monthly, Quarterly, and Annually. There is a discount offered for paying quarterly and annually. Please see the tuition scale on our website. There is a $25 returned check fee
Students with outstanding accounts will not be admitted to class unless other arrangements have been made. There are no refunds on tuition. If there is a need to drop a class, please give us a 30 day written notification.
Recital and Costumes
All recital combination classes are featured in the annual recital usually held the first week of June. The on-stage recital rehearsal will begin at approximately 11:30 am, and the recital will start at 6:30 pm. Due to the cost of producing a recital, there is a $62 non-refundable recital fee per family due by October 30.
If you are in a recital combination class, the cost for recital costumes is $70 per child. If dancers are in more than one recital class per week, please make a costume payment for each class. All costume fees are non-refundable and due by October 30. Please wear your recital costume to the recital rehearsal as well as the recital. Recital t-shirts are available for purchase. If you are interested, check at the front desk in April to place your order.
Miscellaneous
Father-Daughter Recital Dance
All dancers 6 & over are invited to participate in the annual Father-Daughter recital routine. Watch for details in April!
Holidays
There will be no classes on the following days: October 31, November 25-26, December 21-January 3, March 29-April 2 (Spring Break), May 24 (Memorial Day). We do have classes on "Monday" holidays such as MLK Day, President's Day.
Inclement Weather Cancellations
Classes will not be in session when the North Kansas City School District is dismissed due to inclement weather. This includes early dismissal due to weather conditions. If you aren't sure if classes are in session due to weather, visit priscillaanddanas.net, check your email, or our Facebook page, for the latest information.

Assumption of Risk and Waiver of Liability
As the legal parent or guardian, I release and hold harmless Priscilla and Dana's School of Dance, its owners and operators from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the participant and/or the undersigned, while in or upon the premises or in route to or from any of said premises. I understand that appropriate physical contact is required during the instruction of dance, and I give permission for instructors to make appropriate physical contact with me or my child for such instruction.
Medical Authorization and Release of Liability
As the legal parent or guardian, I give permission to Priscilla and Dana's School of Dance, its owners and operators to seek medical treatment for the participant in the event they are not able to reach a parent or guardian. I hereby declare any physical/mental problems, restrictions, or conditions and/or declare the participant to be in good physical and mental health.
