COVID-19 Guidelines
I understand the studio lobby is closed and is only accessible to SDC students and staff. Hand sanitizer will be used abundantly by our staff and will be available for students. Our facility will be kept clean and sanitized as will all props, mats, and other equipment used by students. At this time (as of August 23, 2021) face coverings (masks or shields) are required for all students and staff. The mask mandate is in effect as of August 23, 2021 due to the surge in covid cases in our area. We will continue to monitor cdc guidelines and make necessary adjustments to keep our dancers and staff safe. Our mask policy may change during the year according to CDC guidelines and covid numbers. I have seen the "Should My Child Come to Dance?" Covid policy flowchart and will follow procedures in the event my child is quarantined by her school or has contact with a covid positive person. This chart was emailed to all students and is posted in the parent portal announcements.
NO Refunds
I understand that no refunds for registration, tuition, costumes, competitions or any other fee will be issued for any reason- even in the event of closure due to the pandemic and even if I withdraw my student from the studio. Credits will be applied to accounts at the discretion of the director. Credits applied to accounts will be applied to all oldest fees first. If a student is withdrawn from the studio after costumes are ordered, the parent forfeits the costume payment as there are no refunds.
Online Registration Payment
I understand that for SUMMER 2021 CAMPS: full tuition is posted and charged to your card within 48 hours of enrollment. This payment is non-refundable for any reason. There is no registration fee for Summer Camps. I understand that for 2021-2022 CLASSES: Registration fee is $35 per student. (Family registration fees = $50) By registering online, I agree that the credit card provided will be used for the 2021-2022 session registration fee. I understand that a registration fee will post to my account, and my card will be charged for the registration fee within 48 hours (2 business days) of enrolling. This payment is non-refundable for any reason. The first month's tuition for September classes will post to your account on September 1, and is due in full no later than September 10. Only the registration fee will be charged to your card during the registration process. During the dance year, in the event that my account becomes 30 days past due, I understand that my card will be charged for any balance due. I understand that the REGISTRATION fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. The yearly registration fee holds the student's position in class only until the first month's tuition is due. Since registration is first come, first served, if your payment is declined or does not process, registration will move to the next person in line.
Monthly Tuition Payments
I understand that tuition is due by the 10th of each month September-May. Since our studio lobby is closed, payments should be made via credit card via our Parent Portal. There will be a $10 late fee applied to account balances paid after the 10th. Tuition is not pro-rated for absences or studio closures. There is a $25 returned check fee for any check returned by the bank. In the event that my account becomes 30 days past due for services/costumes rendered, I understand that the card on file will be charged the amount due. If my account becomes 30 days past due, and no attempt at a payment arrangement has been made, my child will no longer be allowed to participate. Classes are not held after the Christmas Show in December or the spring recital in May, both of which are usually scheduled mid month. There are no refunds for missed lessons, and tuition remains the same no matter how many weeks are in the month. 30 minute weekly classes: $30 per month 45 minute weekly classes: $40 per month.
Required Dance Tops
I understand that once registered, every student is required to order a studio t-shirt to be worn as uniforms for our studio performances. These tops must be sized and ordered BY THE PARENT INDIVIDUALLY from our studio online store. More information will be distributed when classes begin.
Dress Code
STUDIO DRESS CODE: I understand that STUDENTS WITHOUT THE REQUIRED DANCE SHOES AND/OR PROPER DANCE ATTIRE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASS OR PERFORMANCES. Younger students especially are required to wear tights or thin socks to class to make changing shoes easier. School uniforms, dresses and regular street clothes are not appropriate for dance class. Dancers must wear clothes fitting for exercise. Leotards and tights or dance pants are recommended. For a complete list of required shoes, please log into your parent portal. A list of required shoes and dance attire is available on our website and in the parent portal announcements.
Open House/Shoe Fittings
Our rescheduled Open House is Thursday, August 26 from 5:00-7:00pm. For your convenience, Imaginations Dancewear will be on site with shoes, leotards, tights, dance bags and accessories for sale. All students are encouraged to attend to be fitted and purchase or order the required dance shoes and attire.
Parent Portal
I understand that I am expected to utilize the SDC Parent Portal to stay up to date with all studio business and deadlines. I understand that I am expected to log into the Parent Portal weekly to check for important news and announcements from the studio director. I understand that all important announcements, reminders and information are sent through email from SDC. Emails from SDC are logged and stored in the parent portal for your convenience so you can easily go back and find the information you need. I understand that I must keep my contact mailing address, email address and phone number current and correct in the parent portal. I also understand that I am expected to stay up to date with important studio announcements by logging into the parent portal regularly.
Recital Costumes
COSTUMES: I understand that costumes are ordered for each class to wear in the annual spring recital. A non-refundable costume deposit of $25 per class will be due with or before October tuition. The costume balance must be paid in full with November tuition. FAILURE TO PAY THE COSTUME BALANCE IN FULL WILL RESULT IN YOUR CHILD'S COSTUME NOT BEING ORDERED. Sizes are ordered according to studio measurements and pre-determined company charts. Any alterations necessary are the responsibility of the parent. COSTUME FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE and normally are between $50-$75 per dance class. No costume is required for gymnastics. I understand that in the event of a misplaced or damaged costume, the parent must make SDC staff aware as soon as possible and will be responsible for full payment of the replacement. Additional shipping charges will be required to get the costume in time for performances and are not guaranteed to be possible. Once costumes are sent home with dancers, I understand that to return/exchange a costume for any reason will require additional shipping at the parent's expense.
Social Media/Text Reminders
I understand that SDC utilizes social media platforms for important announcements like inclement weather updates, and studio deadlines/reminders. Parents are encouraged to like and follow our studio pages on Facebook and Instagram for the best possible studio experience. SDC also utilizes text reminders. ALL PARENTS ARE REQUIRED TO ACCEPT TEXT REMINDERS FROM SDC. These texts are sent very sparingly and only when extremely important information needs to be conveyed. I understand that my cell phone number should be updated on the parent portal so I can receive these important text reminders.
Schedules
SCHEDULES: I understand that student's individual final schedules will be available before classes begin via the Parent Portal. Instructions for logging into your secure account in the Parent Portal will be available upon registration. Please be sure a working email address that you check daily is on file with your registration form. The master schedule for the studio is finalized after registration is complete. Days/times listed currently may be adjusted depending on registrations.
Photography Release
I give my permission to Southside Dance Center to use and publish for editorial, trade, advertising, or other promotional purposes all photographic, video, and digital images of my child(ren) including my child's name in conjunction with the studio and school name. All parents/guardians who do not wish their child's image or name to be used in this manner must declare so in writing submitted to the studio.
Medical Emergency
The undersigned gives permission to Southside Dance Center, Inc., it's owners and operators to seek medical treatment for the participant in the event they are are not able to reach a parent or guardian. I hereby deny any physical/mental problems, restrictions, or condition and/or declare the participant to be in good physical and mental health.
Release of Liability
As the legal parent or guardian, I release and hold harmless Southside Dance Center, Inc. it's owners and operators from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the participant and/or the undersigned, while in or upon the premises or any premises under the control and supervision of Southside Dance Center, Inc., it's owners and operators or in route to or from any said premises.
