You may either pay a non-refundable deposit of $250, or pay full tuition plus a Registration Fee of $25 per family.
KELJC MANAGED CLASSES. The policies stated below apply only to classes directly offered and managed by KELJC. As such, a class offered through a third party is governed by policies set by that third party and not KELJC. Key Element Learning and any other facilities in which classes are held are not legally responsible for any illness, accident or injury to you or your child.
PERSONAL PROPERTY. KELJC makes every effort to have a designated employee available to help manage strollers, however, please help keep our entrance clear and safe. Parents assume all liability for loss or damage to strollers and other personal items left on KELJC premises.
EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS. KELJC confirms classes and sends all communications about enrollments, scheduling, calendar changes, session dates, programs and emergency notices via email. Parents agree to facilitate receipt of KELJC emails. The KELJC is not responsible for lost communications if its emails are unopened, unread, diverted, or the recipient unsubscribes or blocks KELJC emails.
CALENDAR. Session start dates, end dates, holidays, and emergency closing dates and teacher absence are posted and updated at www.keyelementlearning.com website or Key Element Learning Facebook page.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS. KELJC staff will not administer any type of medical treatment. A parent or caregiver must remain on premises to administer any drug or medical treatment that could possibly be required. Key Element Learning cannot ensure or guarantee that the participants, equipment, premises and/or activities will be free of hazards, accidents and/or injuries.
MAKE-UPS. Make-up classes will be held in the week at the end of the semester. No make ups for summer session.
VISITORS. Tots-Family Preschool classes admit only one adult per child. Un-enrolled infants, siblings, or guests are not admitted. Before bringing a family member, please call the KELJC at least one day before so that we have time to notify the teacher.
SCHOOL PROTOCOL. Cell phone use during class is unacceptable. These classes incorporate both moving and seated activities. Caregivers participate by guiding and encouraging their child to participate.
PHOTOS. To respect the privacy rights of other families and reduce disruption to the class, no photos or video recording is permitted during class. All photos taken during the course of activities by Key Element Learning staff are the property of Key Element Learning and can be used as deemed necessary.
BEHAVIOR. The child and legal guardian agree to abide by the rules and regulations established by Key Element Learning for the health, safety and welfare of everyone involved. Instances of physical aggression and/or concern for safety of any camper(s) can lead to immediate termination of summer attendance. In addition, if parents are unwilling to follow camp rules or if the parent hinders the relationship between their child, his/her peers and/or teachers, the camp administration may determine that termination from the camp is a necessary form of action.
SEPARATION CLASSES. By enrolling in a Children's class, Camp-Like Enrichment, or Regular Preschool parents represent that their child can separate. If necessary, a parent or caregiver may stay in class on the first day but should remain outside by the second (with a longer adjustment period for Regular Preschool). Parents will follow the recommendations of the staff at KELJC for helping the child with gentle separation.
CLASS TIME CHANGE BY KELJC. KELJC may need to revise your class day/time based on enrollment.
TEACHERS. KELJC cannot guarantee that a class will be taught by the teacher originally scheduled at the time you enrolled.
CLASS CANCELLATIONS. KELJC makes every effort to notify parents of cancellations via email or telephone and offers a compensatory makeup for every day cancelled for weather or other reasons.
LATE PICK UP Parents are expected to pick up their children promptly after class. Parents should be aware that we have a daily schedule for students and staff members. Late pick up is unfair to the staff members and disrupts the schools routine. Please call if you know you are going to be late. After 10 min grace period, parents will be charge $25 every 10 min. Payment is due in cash at pick up time. If a child's caregiver does not arrive by 6:30 pm we will call the primary contact number; if not accessible by phone a staff member will call the emergency number. If the emergency contact cannot be reach and it is beyond school closing time, the local police and the state licensing must be contacted at 1877-NJ-ABUSE (1-877-652-2873)
DEPOSIT AND REFUND POLICY
Any tuition that is not paid by the 1st will be considered late and will be subject to a late fee. Changes in Payment Please remember that tuition is due regardless of child absence, holidays, snow days, or other Pre-School's closings. In the event you need to alter your child's schedule of attendance, the Director must be notified in writing two weeks in advance and is not guaranteed. A change in the tuition will only occur if the change in your child's schedule lasts for longer than a period of four weeks. Please also familiarize yourself with the additional fees for dropping off your child early or picking him/her up late (note: in the event that a child is left for longer than regular closing hours, a Team Member will make every attempt to contact the identified emergency contacts until it is necessary to contact the proper authorities as mandated by our state licensing). For part time attendees, the addition or reconfiguration of days of attendance will incur charges in addition to the regular tuition even if the child is absent on the regularly contracted days of attendance. Please adhere to the schedule you choose for your child to avoid additional costs. It is the parent's responsibility to request (in writing) a permanent reduction in tuition because of the advancement to another classroom. Retroactive reimbursements for overcharges because of classroom advancements or other fee cannot be granted.
PAYMENTS KELJC accepts personal checks (payable to "Key Element Learning"), American Express (AMEX), VISA, MasterCard, and Discover ("credit card"), money orders, or cash. Ten days before a session starts personal checks are not accepted. Cash payments must be made directly to the Enrollment Office at Key Element Learning at 338 Grove Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302.
CLASS CHANGES/WITHDRAWALS Requests to change your day/time or withdraw must be made in writing by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. No refunds are granted after the semester has started. The KELJC charges a $100 Class Change Fee and $150 Withdrawal Fee.
