Dance Season Registration & Tuition Fees
All students pay an annual registration fee. First child $35, second $15, 3rd and more $10 each. Registration covers classes and camps running from September through the following August. Students registering for summer camps/classes only pay a reduced registration fee of $10 per child. Tuition is due by the first of each month. All students are required to enroll in the auto-pay program which deducts tuition from a linked credit card on the 1st of each month unless tuition is paid by alternate means before the first. When cards are declined, an email notice is sent to the address on the account. If tuition is more than 5 days past due, there will be a $20.00 late fee per student applied to the account balance. There is a $35.00 returned check charge for any checks returned by the bank.
Dance Season Classes
When you enroll in classes, Registration is posted to your account but not charged. Once you have chosen your classes, you will be charged for registration and first and last month's tuition which is calculated by the number of total hours per week. The charge will occur within 48 hours and a receipt will be emailed to the email on file. Tuition is non-refundable under any circumstances. To cancel enrollment, notification must be made in writing via EMail to info@gcapa.net. If this notification falls within 14 days of the next billing period, I understand and accept that I will be charged for another billing cycle.
Dance Season Handbook
I acknowledge that I can request a current handbook at the studio and locate the Studio Handbook online at www.gcapa.net/gcapa-parents and agree to adhere to all studio policies. In addition, I will consider the previous year Studio Handbook as notice for all goings-on and financial obligations due in a timely manner throughout the year.
Dancewear and Shoes
I understand that any gear that must be ordered is non-refundable. I also understand that any gear that appears used, in any way, have been removed from its packaging or tags have been removed is non-refundable. I agree to the sizes ordered by the GCAPA Crew at the time of fitting and understand that there is a $10 exchange fee per item to cover the shipping, resizing and restocking of each unused item. I understand that children grow and that when I agree on a size by the GCAPA Crew, I will not dispute it. When my child grows, I will accept the need and payment for new shoes. I understand that a dress code or uniform is required for my child's class, including studio brand gear.
Dance Season Recital
I am aware that I must notify Grand Central Academy of Performing Arts NO LATER THAN October 31 of the current School Year of my intent to WITHDRAW from the Spring recital. Without written notification of withdrawal, I accept the terms of the recital which include a recital fee and costume costs outlined in the current listed on www.gcapa.net. I understand that the recital fee will be charged on February 1 of the current school year. I understand that the recital fee is NON-REFUNDABLE under any circumstances. I hold harmless GCAPA for any scheduling conflicts that might arise within my family after the deadline and I understand that GCAPA is a business that charges a recital fee to keep the costs low for all families of the studio.
Dance Season Cancellations
Classes may be changed or cancelled at any time by the studio based on enrollment. If a class is cancelled, you may receive a full or partial refund (or a balance forward in the case of a discounted class) based on the number of classes your child has already taken. A refund may take up to 4 weeks to process.
Attendance Policy
Dance is a discipline that requires consistency in training. When a student falls behind, the entire class suffers. The student misses vital information about technique that will only need to be explained during another class, in turn, taking up time that would otherwise be used for additional instruction for the rest of the class. To alleviate this obligation on the teacher and the burden on the students, we have adopted an attendance policy. A leveled student missing three (3) or more classes in any one class will need to make up his/her classes or take a private lesson to learn the missed material at the students expense before resuming regular class activity. In addition, the teacher and director will use their discretion to decide whether or not future absences will result in mandatory private lessons and how many absences will warrant a necessary private Lesson. All private lessons at GCAPA are $1 per minute with the instructor they are making up with or a permissible substitute. This is not a punishment, but a way to keep everyone learning at full capacity without defeating the momentum of the syllabus.
