Private/Partner Music, Art, and Adaptive Lessons: Your commitment to lessons is from your start date through the end date listed in the system. Musical and artistic development involve a significant commitment, and musicianship and creative expression are skills that require time, persistence, and patience. Please communicate and work with your instructor through the practice struggles and plateaus everyone experiences as part of artistic learning.
Terminating lessons: Four (4) weeks' notice is required for terminating lessons mid-year. Families and adult students requesting lesson termination must do so in writing. Please submit a withdrawal request at rhapsodyarts.org/faq. Please Note: If a four-week written notice is not given, you will be billed for an additional four weeks. We do not offer refunds.
Makeups: We cannot guarantee makeup appointments for missed lessons. As a courtesy, Rhapsody may offer makeup options if the absence is reported at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time. No more than two (2) absences can qualify for makeup options between September and May. Summer makeup options will be at the discretion of Rhapsody.
Reporting absences and makeup requests: The official means to report an absence and request a makeup option are (choose one): 1) send an e-mail to absences@rhapsodyarts.org; 2) call the office at 608-848-2045; or 3) fill out the form at rhapsodyarts.org/absences. NOTIFYING THE INSTRUCTOR DOES NOT CONSTITUTE OFFICIAL ABSENCE NOTIFICATION. Absences reported with less than 24 hours' notice, or by means other than #1, 2, or 3 (above) will not be offered a makeup option.
No-shows: Accounts for students who miss lessons, classes, or other paid programming without notice, or with less than 24 hours' notice, will be billed. Rhapsody will notify parents or the primary account contact for each no-show. After two (2) no-show occurrences, students may be disenrolled and lesson times re-assigned, if applicable. Payment will continue to be due unless termination procedure (above) is followed.
Group week classes are included in music lesson tuition. These are meant to serve as an enhancement to private/partner music lessons. Attendance is highly encouraged. A schedule of group week offerings and options will be published in advance of each group week, held periodically between September and May.
Attendance for early childhood, ensembles, group week, art classes, and other special events/workshops/programs:
1. We do not offer refunds once enrollment is confirmed and payment received unless class/event is canceled due to low enrollment.
2. We do not offer refunds, credits, makeups, or proration for missed group classes/sessions.
3. If you know you will miss a class or session, please notify Rhapsody by an official method (choose one): 1) send an e-mail to absences@rhapsodyarts.org; 2) call the office at 608-848-2045; or 3) fill out the form at rhapsodyarts.org/absences. NOTIFYING THE INSTRUCTOR DOES NOT CONSTITUTE OFFICIAL ABSENCE NOTIFICATION. Without notification, attendance may be marked as "no-show" (see above).
