MUSIC ATTENDANCE / MISSED LESSONS / MAKE-UPS: Students should be prompt for their lesson and outside the music room at the time of their lesson. Your lesson time is yours alone. It is not the responsibility of the instructor to try to find a student. ABSOLUTELY NO MAKE-UP LESSONS WILL BE GIVEN for missed lessons unless absence is due to serious illness AND notice has been given to the studio office by 12pm the day of the lesson. Make-up lessons will be limited to 1 per teaching semester (Sept-Dec, Jan-May, Jun-Aug) and will require a doctor's note. NO REFUNDS ARE GIVEN FOR MISSED LESSONS. (School activities and events such as trips, school breaks that differ from our studio's break schedule, sports practices and games, etc. do not qualify for make-up lessons.) Make-up lessons will be offered on a limited number of days at the end of each semester. See calendar of events for makeup dates and times. Students must sign up for the makeup lesson at least one week in advance of attending.
In the rare instance that your music teacher needs to cancel a lesson, a substitute instructor may be arranged to teach your lesson, or a make-up lesson will be arranged at a later date. In this case, the makeup lesson will not count against the one per semester limit.
PRIVATE MUSIC TUITION CALCULATION: If you choose the monthly payment option, the tuition amount stays the same every month because we divide the cost of your remaining lessons at registration by the number of remaining months. For example, if you start lessons on Monday's in September, and there are 31 total lessons remaining through May, your monthly tuition will be $86.11 ($25 x 31 lsns) / 9 mo. You only pay for your actual private lessons. You are never charged for a lesson when we are closed for holidays. Since music lessons are private, no discounts are given for music lesson tuition.
MUSIC WITHDRAWAL: After the studio receives the 14-day withdrawal notice to discontinue lessons, if the number of lessons given exceeds the total of tuition collected, Encore Studio will charge your account for the difference.
MUSIC BOOKS: If your teacher requires specific music books, you can either pay your teacher directly for your books with cash or check, or charge your Encore account in the office. Just let your teacher know what you would like to do. The books are yours to keep. Depending on a student's level, the prices and frequency of books will vary.
MUSIC RECITAL: All music students will have the option to perform in a music recital. There is a $10 fee to perform in this event. Recital location and date TBA. (May or June)
MUSIC PRE-REGISTRATION: Current music students can guarantee their current time slot for the following Fall by pre-registering. You may pre-register any time before open registration begins. During this time, you may also change your time slot for the Fall if there are openings. After open registration begins, your slot will be open to other students.
