Your lesson time is reserved exclusively for you.
The Music & Dance School does not assume responsibility for missed lessons for any reason.
Maximum number of make-up opportunities allowed per student is 8 total, per 12-month period, from June 15 to June 15 of the following calendar year. You will only be eligible for a make-up opportunity if you have given the Music School & Dance Academy advance notice, by contacting us by 12:00 noon on the day of the lesson.
Make-up opportunities are provided as a courtesy on the School's availability and convenience for actively registered students. If you schedule a make-up class and then miss that make-up for any reason, without giving 24 hour notice, it still counts as your make-up lesson. Your make-up may be with a different teacher than your primary one.
HOW TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR A MAKE-UP COURTESY
If you will know be missing a class, call us and leave a message on our absence line, or email. You must provide the required advanced notice of 12:00 noon on the day of your lesson to be eligible for a make-up courtesy. There are no guaranteed make-up lessons, as these can only be offered if another student misses their lesson.
If you are eligible for a make-up, you will be emailed a list of make-up courtesies to select for sign-ups. All families are responsible for their own make-up lesson sign ups. This system works on a first-respond / first-serve basis.
Once you have received your 8 annual make-up courtesies for the 12-month period, you are not eligible for make-ups again until the next annual cycle.

CHORUS and GLEE
No homework, except for 6 weeks prior to our annual Winter and Spring Concerts. Memorization Guidelines are sent home at this time to help the students memorize their lyrics for their upcoming performances. Parents and guardians, thank you for your help with this to help our students feel confident on stage!
INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED PRIVATE LESSON STUDENTS
20-30 minutes minimum per day, 5 days a week is essential for progress.
We understand that playing a musical instrument is one activity of many, but in order to develop musical skills and obtain the most from a private or small group instruction experience, dedicated, regular practice at home is essential. Positive parental support and consistency at home makes a big difference in achieving this goal.
DANCE ACDEMY STUDENTS:
Your primary practice happens during class time. This is is why it is highly recommended to take 2 core dance classes per week, plus a bonus STAR class. Dancers can also follow their Terms / Stretching books to keep their bodies conditioned between classes. Choreography videos are sent weeks prior to Spring Showcase to help dancers better memorize their performances.
