Cell Phone Policy
Our cell phone policy is as follows:
No one is allowed to use cell phones / electronic devices on our campus. We ask that parents complete their phone calls outside of our campus. Students that bring their cell phones out during breaks or classes will need to turn their phones in, and collect them at the end of the day. Repeated offenses will require the student to turn their phone in upon entry to Huck.
Cell phones can be used in the office at any time to contact parents. Students may leave their cell phones in the office and come and check for messages in between classes.
Cell phones can be used in the classroom only under the direction of the teacher. Students that pull their cell phones out in classes without direct instruction will need to turn in their phone for the day.
Payment Policies
Registering for HuckleBerry classes indicates that you are committing financially to the class, so please choose wisely!
Payments can be made through your charter school or by you.
Payments by our parents may be made on a monthly basis. These are due by the 10th of each month to avoid a $25 late fee payment.
Please note that if you leave your charter school, they will no longer pay for your classes and you will be responsible for paying for the portion that they will not cover. Please contact us at huckclasses@gmail.com at any time if you need to know your balance or your charter's balance.
Credit Card Information
HuckleBerry is now collecting credit card information to ease the monthly billing process. If you will be carrying a cash balance beyond what your charter school will pay for, you may set up monthly credit card billing. To do this, please contact us at huckclasses@gmail.com to let us know that you prefer us to charge your credit card monthly.
All cash payments are due on the 1st and late after the 10th. Families that do not pay their cash balance by the 10th of each month will be assessed a $25 late fee, and will be contacted by phone and email, and the balance due for the month will be charged to the credit card.
Families that need alternative payment plans should contact HuckleBerry to set this up.
Drop Policy
HuckleBerry is a small non-profit community service organization. We keep our classes small so it's important that they are filled up with students that are committed to the class. Please know that dropping classes has a effect on our entire community. If you have questions about a class, please contact the teacher prior to signing up to make sure the class will meet your expectations.
All drops are processed by filling out the drop form from the website.
All class drops are subject to a minimum $50 administrative drop fee.
Additional Late Drop Fees are listed below.
Drops that happen right before classes start are especially difficult to manage. Please make sure you want your classes when you sign up!
- SWITCHING CLASSES: If you switch to a different class after signing up for a class, we will attempt to fill your child's spot. However, if this is not possible you will be charged a $35 administrative fee, along with the prorated amount of any classes attended. Dropping on the day of the class meeting will incur charges for that day. Your new class will also be prorated.
- DROPPING CLASSES: If you drop a class at any time after signing up for the class without choosing a replacement class, you will be charged a $50 administrative fee per class, along with the prorated amount of any classes attended. Dropping on the day of the class meeting will incur charges for that day. Some portion of this fee may be refunded based on our ability to fill your child's spot. If this class has a material kit, you will also be charged for that.
NO DROPS ARE ALLOWED AFTER FRIDAY OF THE 2ND WEEK OF CLASSES. You will be charged for the entire cost of the class.
Special Notes:
If we can replace your child's spot in a class, a portion of your drop fees may be refunded.
Families enrolled in charter schools, please contact your educational specialist/teacher for more information on whether they will cover fees if a class is dropped. Many charter schools will not cover these fees.
Please note that if you leave your charter school, they will no longer pay for your classes and you will be responsible for paying for the portion that they will not cover.
Please contact us at huckclasses@gmail.com at any time if you need to know your balance or your charter's balance.
Late Pick Up Fees
Please pick up your child by 3:00 to avoid a $25 fee for every 15 minutes they are late, unless your child is in a class that ends after 3:00. We must pay our administrative staff & additional rent to watch children that are not picked up on time.
Special Notes
Please Note:
HuckleBerry provides students and families the opportunity to enroll in classes irrespective of their race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, financial status or national origin.
All children must either be in a class, in a study hall (when available) or with their parent while at HuckleBerry.
HuckleBerry adheres to a Discipline Policy that will be read to the class at the beginning of each class. Please see our Discipline Policy online for more information and contact us with any questions.
