Lunch & Snack Bar

Students must pack lunch daily in a thermal insulated bag with ice pack. No food can be kept in dance bags. Students are not permitted to use the refrigerator. Students may purchase snack at our snack bar at the end of the day, everything in snack bar cost $1.00 - $3.00. Students may also pack their own snacks daily.

Dance Bags

Students must bring a dance bag daily packed with toiletries such as deodorant, feminine products, Ballet and Tap shoes. Students are recommended to arrive dressed in dance clothes, a change of clothes may be packed in dance bags. All items brought must be labeled with students first and last name. Living Arts Dance, Inc. Is not responsible for lost or stolen items, it is recommended to keep all valuables at home or leave them with staff at the front desk for safe keeping.

Cell Phone Policy

Living Arts Dance, Inc. has created a cell/electronic phone drop box for all students who bring cell phones to the students. Due to our inability to monitor the language, website content or any other inappropriate material viewed or created on all devices. Students ages: 5 - 18 who bring any electronic devices into the studio must deposit the device into the box upon arrival and may reclaim it upon departure. NO CELL PHONES OR ELECTRONIC DEVICES are to be stored in the dressing rooms or in students bags. Living Arts Dance, Inc. is not responsible for lost/ stolen items or electronics which are not deposited into the electronic drop box.

Pick-Up & Drop-Off

Parents must check students into and out of Living Arts Dance, Inc. For the safety of all our Living Arts students, students may not be called out to the car or depart the facility with anyone who not on their list as a contact or person whom they may be released to. Please list in the previous field section above if your child may take public transportation, depart the studio on their own or additional adults 18 and over who they may be released to.

Late Pick-up Fees

Parents will be charged a fee for late pick-up of $1.00 per minute for the first 15 minutes and then $5.00 per minute after, per child. Late fees must be paid prior to the student's return to camp.

Peanut/Nut Free Dance Studio

Communication

We use the REMIND APP for easy quick studio communication. This app allows the studio to send you details and information directly to your cell phone and or email address. Parents may respond to the app in a private text message which is only read by studio staff and the studio director. Once registered parents and students will be automatically added to the remind app by our staff. Please provide any additional contact or parents who you would like to be added to the remind app in the comment section below. Please let us know if you would like to be removed from the app at any time.

Youth Etiquette

____All students must be in proper Living Arts Dance uniform dance attire to participate in camp & proper shoes to participate in class:
Daily Dance Attire: LAD Leotard, LAD Short Unitard, & Tan Tights
*No under clothes underwear are to be worn dance wear.
____STUDENTS NOT IN UNIFORM WITH SHOES WILL NOT TAKE CLASSES OR PARTICIPATE IN DANCE CLASSES.

Hair

Hair must be worn back off the face, long braids must put up into a bun, not hanging on the shoulders during class. No scarfs, head wraps or bandannas are alllowed to be worn during class. We expect our teens to know this policy, instructors should not have to remind this every class. PLEASE limit the ballies, beads and barrettes or use a hairnet to keep back during dance classes.

Teacher Etiquette & Discipline

Please understand the nature of dance instruction involves kinetic corrections that may include physically touching a student as part of regular class work and rehearsals. Such corrections are often "hands on", manually adjusting a student's body in order to correct alignment, demonstrate technique, holding a hand to younger redirect students, etc. is standard practice in all dance forms. For discipline or behavior corrections, classes may participate in exercises such as: sit-ups, push-ups, leg lifts, time-out or for extreme distractions or behavioral problems students maybe removed from classes or camp.

Social Media Policy

It is highly recommended that students keeps professional dance education related social media accounts separate from personal accounts and personal accounts be kept private, if practical. This policy provides guidance for use of social media, which should be broadly understood for purposes of this policy to include blogs, wikis, microblogs, message boards, chat rooms, electronic newsletters, online forums, social networking sites, and other sites and services that permit users to share information with others in a contemporaneous manner.
The following principles apply to use of social media on behalf of Living Arts Dance, Inc. as well as personal use of social media and when referencing Living Arts Dance, Inc. Students/Parents should be aware of the effect their actions may have on their images, as well as Living Arts Dance, Inc. image. Students/Parents should use their best judgment in posting material that is neither inappropriate nor harmful to Living Arts Dance, Inc., its employees, students or customers. Although not an exclusive list, some specific examples of prohibited social media conduct include posting commentary, content, or images that are defamatory, pornographic, proprietary, harassing, libelous, or that can create a hostile work or dance educational environment. Students/Parent are not to publish, post or release any Living Arts Dance, Inc. information that is considered confidential or not public. If there are questions about what is considered confidential, consultant should check with the director, Jaquetta Colson. When posting videos of dance classes please ask about the class to ensure that each parent has given permission to have their child posted on social media.
Social media networks, blogs and other types of online content sometimes generate press and media attention or legal questions. Students/Parents should refer these inquiries to authorized Living Arts Dance, Inc. spokesperson Jaquetta Colson. If Students/Parents encounters a situation while using social media that threatens to become antagonistic, consultant should disengage from the dialogue in a polite manner and seek the advice of Ms. Jaquetta Colson.
Students/parents should get appropriate permission before you refer to or post images of current or former consultants, members, vendors , suppliers or students. Additionally, students/parents should get appropriate permission to use a third party's copyrights, copyrighted material, trademarks, service marks or other intellectual property. Tag Living Arts Dance, Inc. in any photos, videos or material which are post at or of Living Arts Dance, Inc. students, classes or events.

Behavior

Behavior: Students are held to a high standard of excellence and expected to be role models at inside and outside of LivingArtsDance, Inc. Loud disruptive class behavior, not participating in a class, disrespecting an instructor or student, sitting down in a class without permission, walking out of a class without permission, charging cell phones, using cell phones during any class, making posting inappropriate videos, cyber bullying or any poor representation of the students character or LivingrtsDance, Inc. policies is unacceptable.
-Students with unacceptable behavior will be given 3 chances for improvement: a verbal warning to the student, a written warning to the student and the parent, a one probation from all classes and finally removal from the summer camp program.
___Any physical act of violence against another student, staff or themselves are grounds for immediate removal from Living Arts Dance, Inc. camp and all other Living Arts Dance programs.

Studio Policies

Enrollment -Enrollment is open to any and shall be granted without discrimination in regard to sex, race, color, religion, or political belief. However, Director and/or Owner reserves the right to send a student home or ask a patron to leave the property due to illness, disruptive behavior, risk of contagiousness, and in regards to the safety of others. There is a two class minimum for all classes.
Attendance- A parent, student, or patron must notify the Studios within 2 hours of lesson/session start time to be absent from a lesson. Missed days of dance can not be made up. Director should be notified if a child is ill. If there is inclement weather please call, a message will inform you if we are closed, there are no refunds for closures due to inclement weather. Students may not attend class if payments are past due or if not in proper uniform. Students who miss a month of classes must register again for classes.
Parent, siblings, friends, or spectator's access -Parents may be asked not watch lessons/rehearsal at anytime if their presence is disruptive. In cases where Family court or other legal entities have been established visitation or custody rights, a copy of the orders must be provided to Living Arts Dance, Inc. The orders of the court will be strictly followed unless the custodial parent/guardian requests a more liberal variation of the court order in writing. Visitors are allowed in the studio areas only at the discretion of the director. A staff member will accompany visitors at all times.
Arrival & Departure - Upon arrival and departure each parent, student, or patron must sign in and out on the appropriate sheet(s) in the foyer. Children are to be escorted to their designated area and dropped off with a supervisor at all times. Students may not be dismissed on their own without written parent consent. Parental involvement in helping your child get settled with a staff member will help your child adjust quickly to the routine. Older students must not be responsible for younger siblings, only parents or guardians. Living Arts Dance Inc. is not responsible for students who linger before/after designated classes students will be asked to wait in the lobby area. Parent who pick up late will be charged a late fee.
Accidents & Injury - Should a student become injured at school, the parent will be notified via an incident report form. The parent will be asked to sign this form indicating that he/she has been notified, and a copy of the form will be included in the student's school record. In the event of an injury, if the injury is of a serious nature, a parent will receive a phone call from the school at the time the accident occurs.
Smoking - It is our desire that the environment around the studios be as safe and as healthy as possible. Living Arts Dance Inc. building and grounds are smoke-free. Parents, staff, and visitors are asked to comply with this request.
Fire Arms & Weapons - Living Arts Dance Inc. grounds and building are to remain weapons-free, unauthorized possession of dangerous or illegal firearms, weapons or explosives on the property is forbidden.
Discipline - It is the policy of Living Arts Dance Inc. to keep disciplinary issues minimized and help students monitor their own behavior. Staff of the studios present age-appropriate behavioral guidelines and use reflective communication to encourage children to express their emotions. The staff encourages self-control, self-direction, responsibility, and cooperation.

Release and Waiver of Liability and Indemnity Agreement
(Read Carefully Before Agreeing)
In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way in the Living Arts Dance Inc. indicated below and/or being permitted to enter for any purpose any restricted area (here in defined as any area where in admittance to the general public is prohibited), the parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) of the minor participant named below agree:
1. The parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) will instruct the minor participant that prior to participating in the below Living Arts Dance Inc. classes, activities or event, he or she should inspect the facilities and equipment to be used, and if he or she believes anything is unsafe, the participant should immediately advise the officials of such condition and refuse to participate. I understand and agreed that, if at any time, I feel anything to be UNSAFE, I will immediately take all precautions to avoid the unsafe area and REFUSE TO PARTICIPATE further.
2. I/WE fully understand and acknowledge that:
(a) There are risks and dangers associated with participation in Living Arts Dance Inc. classes, events and activities which could result in bodily injury partial and/or total disability, paralysis and death.
(b) The social and economic losses and/or damages, which could result from these risks and dangers described above, could be severe.
(c) These risks and dangers may be caused by the action, inaction or negligence of the participant or the action, inaction or negligence of others, including, but not limited to, the Releasees named below.
(d) There may be other risks not known to us or are not reasonably foreseeable at this time.
3. I/WE accept and assume such risks and responsibility for the losses and/or damages following such injury, disability, paralysis or death, however caused and whether caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Releasees named below.
4. I/WE HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE the Living Arts Dance Inc. facility used by the participant , including its owners, managers, promoters, lessees of premises used to conduct the Living Arts Dance Inc. classes, events or program, premises and event inspectors, underwriters, consultants and others who give recommendations, directions, or instructions to engage in risk evaluation or loss control activities regarding the Living Arts Dance Inc. facility or events held at such facility and each of them, their directors, officers, agents, employees, all for the purposes herein referred to as "Releasee"...FROM ALL LIABILITY TO THE UNDERSIGNED, my/our personal representatives, assigns, executors, heirs and next to kin FOR ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, LOSSES OR DAMAGES AND ANY CLAIMS OR DEMANDS THEREFORE ON ACCOUNT OF ANY INJURY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE DEATH OF THE PARTICIPANT OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE EVENT(S) CAUSED OR ALLEGED TO BE CAUSED IN WHOLE OR IN PART BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEE OR OTHERWISE.

Liability Waiver Part 2

5. I/WE HEREBY acknowledge that THE ACTIVITIES OF THE EVENT(S) ARE VERY DANGEROUS and involve the risk of serious injury and/or death and/or property damage. Each of THE UNDERSIGNED also expressly acknowledges that INJURIES RECEIVED MAY BE COMPOUNDED OR INCREASED BY NEGLIGENT RESCUE OPERATIONS OR PROCEDURES OF THE RELEASEES.
6. EACH OF THE UNDERSIGNED further expressly agrees that the foregoing release, waiver, and indemnity agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the law of the Province or State in which the event is conducted and that if any portion is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding continue in full legal force and effect.
7. On behalf of the participant and individually, the undersigned partner(s) and/or legal guardian(s) for the minor participant executes this Waiver and Release. If, despite this release, the participant makes a claim against any of the Releasees, the parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) will reimburse the Releasee for any money which they have paid to the participant, or on his behalf, and hold them harmless.
I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND HAVE SIGNED IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT, ASSURANCE, OR GUARANTEE BEING MADE TO ME AND INTEND MY SIGNATURE TO BE COMPLETE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW.
