Fusion Dance Center - Competition Team Auditions
*This is going by the grade your dancer will be going into for the 2023-2024 school year. Must be at least 4 years old to audition.
Dancers need to bring both ballet and jazz shoes with them. Ballet clothes are not required (besides shoes), but please have your dancer wear an outfit we can see them properly move in. NOTE: auditions for all styles will be assessed at the same time. There will be no separate auditions for certain styles.
Please arrive 20-30 minutes before the audition so your dancer has time to get their number and stretch. We will immediately begin with a ballet barre.
8-9:30am: 6th-8th grade
9:30-11am: 9th-10th grade
11am-12:30pm: 11th-12th grade
12-1pm: prek-1st grade
1-2:30pm: 2nd-3rd grade
2:30-4pm: 4th-5th grade
30 minutes of a ballet barre w/Miss Emily Fugett
30 minutes of a jazz progression across the floor w/Megan Armstrong
30 minutes of a contemporary/lyrical combo w/Delainey Bailey

ARRIVAL & ATTENDANCE

Every effort to assure students arrive at ALL weekly classes and rehearsals on time. It is expected that family vacations will not be taken while rehearsals are in session and that in the event of a family conflict on a dance day/event every measure possible will be taken to get the dancers to the appropriate facility. Studio management and instructors are always willing to help coordinate transportation if you need assistance. Also, please keep in mind that we are off for Thanksgiving weekend, 2 weeks for winter break, and 1 week for spring break.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

I have read and agree to the attendance policy as outlined in the Competition Team Guidelines. Refunds will not be given for fees paid if a dancer is dismissed from a group, or held out of a competition for attendance reasons.

NO GOSSIP

Will not, under any circumstances, promote gossip relating to our studio, other studios, or any dancer(s) whether they dance at FDC or another studio, particularly within the confines of the studio or at studio-related events. Doing so is grounds for dismissal from the studio. We are here to create a happy, fun, and supportive environment and we need parents to uphold our values and standards.

ATTENDANCE WEEK PRIOR TO COMPETITION

It will be MANDATORY that dancers be at all classes AND rehearsals the week leading up to all Competitions. Exceptions will be made for high school/college dance team commitments, mandatory school events, injury, and/or illness with a doctor's note.

DROP FEE

ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION AT STUDIO EVENTS

Any individual found to be overly intoxicated at a studio event will be barred from any remaining events during the season.

PARENT CONDUCT

We welcome parent feedback. Please ensure that your communications with staff are held at an appropriate time and dealt with respectfully. Verbally accosting (or over text, phone, or email) staff will not be tolerated and is grounds for immediate dismissal.

MEDICAL RELEASE

I give permission for Fusion Dance Center, studio teacher, or studio parent to take my child to a medical/ dental facility, if necessary. In case of emergency, if none of the above can be contacted, I hereby give my consent for emergency medical care prescribed by a duly licensed Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Dentistry. This care may be given under whatever conditions are necessary to preserve the life, limb or well-being of my dependent. I accept full responsibility for all costs of said medical care and any emergency treatments. Fusion Dance Center will not be responsible for the cost of any medical care or emergency treatments. I hereby waive all claims whatsoever in connection with such medical treatments.

WAIVER AND RELEASE

I agree that if my dependent or I (heretofore know as 'we') engage in any physical exercise, class, activity, or facility on the premises or any venue where we participate as a representative of Fusion Dance Center, we do so at our own risk. I agree that we are voluntarily participating in activities and use of said facilities, premises (including the parking lot), and designated Fusion Dance Center venues. We assume all risk of injury, illness, damage, or loss to us or our property that might result, including, without limitation, any loss or theft of any personal property. I agree that this consent and assumption of risk statement covers each and every event or activity sponsored by Fusion Dance Center. I agree to release and discharge you (and your affiliates, employees, agents, representatives, successors, and assigns) from any and all claims or cause of action (known, or unknown) arising out of your negligence. I acknowledge that I have carefully read this Waiver and Release and fully understand that it is a release of liability. I am waiving any right that I may have to bring legal action to assert a claim against you for your negligence.
