We are seeking dedicated youth ballet dancers, ages 7-18 years old, to be part of the Rochester Dance Company's 2026 - 2027 season.
Our 2026 Nutcracker production will take the stage on December 5th and 6th at Mayo Civic Center Presentation Hall in Rochester, MN.
Auditions and casting for our Nutcracker production will be on Sunday April 26th at Byron Dance Academy. Audition times are based on 2026 Grade level.
If you are unable to audition at this time, please email rochesterdancecompanymn@gmail.com to make alternate arrangements.
All dancers are required to participate in the audition process.
A video audition, due before the auditions, will be allowed if needed.

Company Contracts

Contracts with company level placement will be emailed to all dancers by May 18th , 2026. To accept your contract, dancers must reply to our email and register on Jackrabbit Dance by May 23rd, 2026. Registration fees will be posted by May 24th and must be paid by May 30th on Jackrabbit Dance to be considered for Nutcracker casting.

Dance Training

My dancer will need to be enrolled and attend ballet classes at a dance studio of my choice, during the season of my RDC company membership.

Attendance

My dancer will need to attend Ballet Boot Camp (August 3rd - 7th) and scheduled rehearsals (September - November) throughout the company season. Avoiding absences is best but RDC attendance policy includes up to two pre-excused (prior notice) rehearsal absences per production. Absences and attendance can affect casting and participation in the performances. If unable to attend Ballet Boot Camp, this must be indicated at the time your contract is submitted.

Financial Obligations

Financial obligations for Rochester Dance Company include an annual registration fee, costume fee, monthly tuition, essential dance wear or accessories for their role, and required ticket sales for families.

Volunteer Requirements

Families are required to volunteer a minimum of 20 hours during the production season, with our highest needs during Tech Week and Show Weekend. If unable to volunteer, there is an opt out fee of $150.
