Advanced Ballet Conditioning: ages 12 through Adult - This class focuses on core work, flexibility, strength, and alignment by using techniques from Pilates, floor barre, and stretching. Its aim is to help dancers reduce injuries with proper alignment and to find their center so they can be more powerful and balanced in any class. Additionally, this class may work on classical or contemporary dance techniques and choreography. Students must be in Level 3 ballet or higher to attend. Administrative approval and placement assessment is needed for outside students to attend. Dress Code: Solid black leotard, solid pink ballet tights, pink ballet shoes. Ballet Level 4, 5, Pre-pointe & Pointe: age 11+ This class, by invitation or placement assessment only, is for dancers who are serious about dedicating their time and energy to ballet. With a focus on strengthening the body for pointe work, helping with stability, foot and ankle strength, finding your center and balance, it requires students to be physically and technically prepared to handle the challenges of pointe work. Students in Level 4/5 must attend their required classes plus are encouraged to take more to develop the strength necessary to succeed in class.
