Improvisational Storytelling
It’s time to take your acting off the page!
In this energetic and fun-filled class, students will dive into the foundational skills of improv. These aren’t just essential for performing improv theatre—they’ll also boost your actor’s confidence with any script they hold. Students will learn to listen actively, trust their scene partners, communicate clearly, and think beyond their individual roles to support the whole story. These are skills that go beyond the stage—they’re valuable in theatre and in life. And best of all? They’ll be laughing the whole time!
FAQ: I’ve already taken Improv—should I take it again? YES! Improv is a skill you build over time, not something you master in one class. Think of it like sports: even if you played last season, you still show up for practice with your new team. Every class brings fresh challenges, new partners, and a chance to grow.

Shakespeare’s plays stand the test of time for a reason—the characters are bold, the language is rich, and the stories are full of drama, comedy, and heart.
Because the language can feel unfamiliar at first, it helps to have a guide who can make it accessible and exciting. Your instructor, Tanya Quinn, has a deep connection with the Bard’s work. She has performed as Titania, Puck, and Quince in three separate productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as Rosalind in As You Like It. Tanya has also directed young actors in Hamlet, Macbeth, The Tempest, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
For students planning to apply to musical theater or theater arts programs in college, Shakespeare is essential. Most auditions require both a classical dramatic and comedic monologue—and by the end of this course, students will leave with both, ready to impress in any audition room.
