Team Registration $20 and dues $200 + additional USA Swimming flex membership REQUIRED to be completed PRIOR to 1st day of practice.
BEAST team cap is included.
Swimmers will be eligible to attend 2 of the 3 BEAST "Sweet Summer Series" meets June 14, June 28th and July 15th at Wilson Athletic Center BHQ in Albuquerque.
* Volunteer agreement that will show up in the policy agreements is waived for this group of swimmers.

Build a BEAST: Freestyle and Backstroke
|
For the entire week our coaching team will focus on improving the freestyle and backstroke technique of each swimmer no matter their level. Freestyle and backstroke utilize the same body position, posture, rotation and an early catch to move down the pool with efficiency and speed. Both strokes are referred to as long-axis strokes because swimmers rotate their hips and torso around their spine.

Build a BEAST: Butterfly and Breaststroke Technique
|
Butterfly and breaststroke utilize similar body position, undulating movements, and an early catch to get across the pool with efficiency and speed. They are called short-axis strokes because swimmers do not rotate their bodies around their spine. Quick, powerful turns, and finishes are crucial to fast times and winning close races. Turns are not just used to turn around on the wall, but they are also used to generate speed and momentum going into the next lap. Our BEAST coaching team will work with athletes on the intricacies of approaching every wall at top speed and seamlessly initiating their turns. We will also help athletes perfect their finishes for every stroke. Many races come down to the last few strokes, so perfecting the timing of your finish is important to winning races and dropping time.

Build a BEAST: Reaction Time, Sprinting, and Tempo
|
Swimming fast requires good technique, efficiency, power, and a hard- working athlete. This Build-a-BEAST session will focus on developing power that will help your swimmer be more efficient and stronger in the water. Sprinting is more than just moving your arms fast and kicking fast. Our coaching staff will teach athletes how to create speed by leveraging a powerful stroke. Creating that power will increase their efficiency in the water by decreasing the number of strokes your athlete takes in a race to prevent fatigue.
