Register Chamber Camp Playing in a group is a great way to develop new skills and make new friends. Being coached by members of the Toledo Symphony family makes it even better! Join us for a challenging yet motivating week. Expect daily rehearsal time, coachings, conducting classes, and seminars. Showcase what you learned on the recital Saturday, July 25 (10 a.m.) Pre-formed groups are encouraged to apply, or you will be placed in an appropriate level class. Music will be sent to you in June so you can be prepared for your first day of camp! Repertoire will be determined based on level and instrumentation of those enrolled. Register High Brass Class for Beginning Students TSO principal horn Megan Shusta is pleased to share her talent with students this summer! Two separate classes are being offered so you can be sure to hone your horn skills. Just started, or thinking about starting trumpet or French horn? Beginning High Brass class is for you! This class is most appropriate for students that have had less than one year of trumpet or French horn study and will be tailored to the level of the students. Register Intermediate Brass Class TSO principal horn Megan Shusta is pleased to share her talent with students this summer! Two separate classes are being offered so you can be sure to hone your horn skills. Our Intermediate Brass class will combine trumpet, French horn, trombone, and tuba. Students will work on ensemble playing and balance, plus learn tips to assist in their practice sessions. Register Jumpstart Flute and Clarinet Flute and clarinet are popular choices for beginning wind students. Get a head start on your school program by joining our Jumpstart Flute and Clarinet camp. Your teachers will include TSO musicians and educators Amy Heritage (flute) and Jocelyn Langworthy (clarinet). During your two hours each day, Monday-Thursday, you will learn proper care of your instrument, beginning techniques, as well as basic note and rhythm reading. You will be ready to go when band starts in the fall! Students who so desire will be able to enroll in private lessons at a reduced rate. Register Musically Me- All About Fairy Tales Popular music from favorite animated movies about super heroes, princesses, beasts, and beauties will be the source material for this dynamic class. Enjoy bonding with your child while moving, singing, playing instruments, dancing, finger plays and much more! Register Suzuki Early Childhood Education Intensive Experience the Suzuki principles in this action-packed class where you will sing, dance, and play musical instruments to help establish a strong musical foundation. Through nursery rhymes and action songs, you will bond with your young musician as well as other members of the class. This is a highly recommended preparatory step for individual lessons. This class will be a one week intensive to focus on the basics of guitar playing. No previous musical experience is needed. Bring your own instrument! TSO violinist Cheryl Trace is leading a Violin Fantasy Camp for ADULTS! Learn (or review) basic violin skills as you play easy fiddle tunes and other familiar pieces.
