Register CREATIVE WRITING: STORYTELLING & WORLDBUILDING Do you want to write a novel or short story or just wish to tell a decent ghost story? Would you like to build colorful worlds that pop off the page or screen? In this course, we will be exploring creative writing through the medium of narrative storytelling. Whether you wish to write a novel, short story, novella, screenplay or stage play, an interactive game, such as a video game or tabletop game, or anything else that requires you to walk a consumer through a narrative, we will walk through the process of telling tales and building vibrant settings in which good storytelling can take place. Starting with an overview of storytelling, we will learn about plotting and structuring stories, building worlds in which they can occur, designing characters to populate those worlds and live out the story, give them interesting and realistic voices to convey their stories, and combing through the finished product to further refine the telling.
