Those ages 6-9 who are interested in joining our Dance Company in the future are invited to join our Diamonds Branch! In addition to this rehearsal class dancers must also be enrolled in at least one weekly dance class. Members will learn how to perform at different venues in front of a variety of audiences, sharing dance within our community. Students must participate in a few select parades and local performances. Students must also purchase a Team Uniform. Additional costs may include supply expenses (i.e. certain color tights, hair accessories etc.). Classical ballet is a beautiful and theatrical form of dance. This class assists with balance, body placement, turnout, flexibility and alignment in dance. French terminology is taught on all levels. This class will focus on ballet barre, adagio and allegro technique. A focus is placed on the Cecchetti method of ballet technique but Vaganova and RAD is sometimes touched on. Students in this class will be entering their fourth-fifth year of Cecchetti technique. Girls: Black leotards, flesh tone or pink tights, and flesh tone or pink split-sole ballet slippers required. Black dance/bike shorts or black 7/8 leggings are permitted. Hair must be in a bun/twist with bangs pinned back. Boys: white t-shirt, black gym shorts or sweatpants, black ballet slippers. Students MUST have teacher and studio approval to register for this class. It is recommended that Intermediate Ballet students take two Ballet classes per week.
