Students wishing to work towards pointe shoes will begin class learning about pointe shoes and pointe work *Ballet class is required for participation. Dancers will go through specific exercises on flat (in ballet shoes and barefoot) that will be necessary to build proper strength and articulation in the feet and ankles as well as all other muscles necessary for pointe work and preparing them for pointe shoes. Once the students are deemed ready for pointe they may be able to get shoes based on individual readiness.

Modern is an add on class for the student currently enrolled in Ballet Modern is a style that is meant for the mature and advanced dancer. Modern was created to be the stark contrast of ballet as the early pioneers of modern dance felt limited by ballet. The movements in modern were derived to express the dancer's innermost feelings. There are many different modern techniques such as Graham, Horton, Cunningham, Taylor, and Limón. Each technique varies in training and performance, but the modern student will explore all of the techniques to have the best possible understanding of modern dance.
